Big Girl!

Thankfully both Keltie and Kevin are on the mend. Keltie did go to the doctor last week for her one year check up and she has to go back in a month to get her weight checked because she was down from where she should be. Understandably since she didn't eat much for a week. She is definitely making up for it. Last week, Kevin also found that she is working on getting her top two teeth. It's no wonder that she was crabby and uncomfortable for awhile. She is so much happier this week.

While we were at the doctor he mentioned that she shouldn't have her nuk after fifteen months. We have never really used her nuk all that much, except for nap time and bed time. Well, Kevin took this to heart. Her appointment was on Wednesday and by Thursday we were trying it without it. She made it through the whole weekend without ever having it. I was concerned about Monday when she went back to the babysitter's because I understand that sometimes you just need to give it to them to make them happy. She made it the whole day though!! We've also been putting her to bed at nap time and bed time without her being sound asleep. She has done a remarkable job on both of these things. I'm not trying to count my chickens before they hatch, but she is doing such a great job. We've killed two birds with one stone on these things.

I have a lot of friends/relatives who are pregnant right now. I am so excited for them. I truly believe that there is no greater feeling than being a mama. I love every single minute of it. Keltie is so precious and I am so thankful for her. I'm also very thankful that Kevin is such a great Daddy. You couldn't ask for a better one than he is.

Keltie's First Birthday and First Easter

Unfortunately, I have nothing to post about these two big events in her life. Needless to say, our family was hit with the flu bug. She ended up throwing up starting last Wednesday and is finally starting to feel better today. She is actually at daycare today. We were in the clinic on Monday to make sure she wasn't dehydrated. She just couldn't kick the bug. We had everything organized and ready to go for her party, but she wasn't feeling up to a party. We were unable to celebrate Easter as well since she was still sick and the bug also bit Kevin. Thankfully, this is a birthday and Easter that she won't remember anyway. We'll have a big party once she is fully recovered and she'll never know the difference. I'm sure that it was harder on me anyway.

Here's a picture of her on a happier day. You have to love those eyes.

Look for pictures of when we finally do have her birthday party.

Awful Mama!

I looked at this blog today and was totally disappointed in myself. It's been almost a month since I've posted anything. How horrible is that! It's not like Keltie doesn't do something new everyday. She has come so close to walking, she is using sign language for "more," "please," and "milk." She is no longer drinking from a bottle and we are working on a drinking out of a cup. She has two teeth. She brushes those two teeth each day. She is making the transition from breast milk to whole milk. and so much more. It's unbelievable. She will turn one this Friday and we can't imagine our lives without her. What did we do for entertainment? I promise that I will post Easter and birthday pictures. We were slowed down the last couple of weeks with a cold and double ear infection. She is finally back to herself and we are getting back our lost sleep. Look for more Keltie to come.

Eleven Months Old

Our little girl turns 11 months old today. In one month she will be a year old! Wow, time does go by fast when you are having fun. She is learning something new everyday. We have one of Kevin's deer mounts in our living room and Keltie has really started to notice it (not like it hasn't been there for 5 years!). Now when you ask her where the big buck is she points to it and does a wrinkly face smile. (That she definitely learned from her Mama!). We cleaned all of the fan and light fixtures on our fans this weekend and she really noticed that. Now she is constantly pointing to them. If only she pointed to them sooner, we might have realized how dirty they were. Here are a few of her more recent shots. I'm so excited for her year birthday so we can get those taken. Enjoy!

I love blueberries so much!

Random Keltie

Here are a few more recent photos of Keltie.
Over the weekend, Kevin's parents rented a cabin in St. Germain for the whole family. It was nice to get away, and quite the adventure with three babies under the age of one. We went snowshoeing on the first day for about a mile. Since Keltie doesn't like riding in her sled, Kevin carried her in the backpack (nambrand Kelty). When we were finished this is the way she looked. I guess she was giving Daddy a thumbs up for a great ride.

Of all the toys that Keltie has, she chooses to play with her socks. They kept falling off of her feet all day so she was inventive and found something to do with them.

If only I could learn to take pictures better.

Tooth!

Keltie has finally gotten her first tooth. It has only taken her a little bit over 10 months to get it. It started last weekend when she had an extremely high fever, but we just thought that she was getting a cold since she also had all the cold symptoms. On Saturday I was feeding her and she kept grabbing my finger to put in her mouth. Then I felt it, a sharp little point in the middle of her mouth. I was so excited and of course made a big deal out of it. She then got excited and started clapping her hands. I'm sure she was thinking how crazy I was. Kevin felt it later though and did the same thing. Hopefully, it will continue to be as easy of process as it has been so far. She is enjoying the day today with her Grammy and Boompa as my parents are both watching her. I'm sure she won't be left alone for a minute. She'll love every minute of it though.

Ten Months Old Already

Our little girl is 10 months old today. It's amazing how fast time has gone. She is able to do so much now. Last night she stood all by herself for about 10 seconds, which isn't really a big deal, but we've never experienced this before. Every day is truly a new experience for us. This morning I went to get her out of her crib and she was standing there waiting for me. It gave me such a good feeling. When I dropped her off at her babysitter's house this morning, she crawled right away from me and started playing. She didn't even notice that I left. I want her to be able to do this, but yet it broke my heart to see her getting so independent. I know that it will only get worse the older she gets. We just have to enjoy every minute of it.

Here she is this morning. I had to bribe her with the remote to try to get her to sit still. It didn't really work too well.
