Big Girl!

Thankfully both Keltie and Kevin are on the mend. Keltie did go to the doctor last week for her one year check up and she has to go back in a month to get her weight checked because she was down from where she should be. Understandably since she didn't eat much for a week. She is definitely making up for it. Last week, Kevin also found that she is working on getting her top two teeth. It's no wonder that she was crabby and uncomfortable for awhile. She is so much happier this week.

While we were at the doctor he mentioned that she shouldn't have her nuk after fifteen months. We have never really used her nuk all that much, except for nap time and bed time. Well, Kevin took this to heart. Her appointment was on Wednesday and by Thursday we were trying it without it. She made it through the whole weekend without ever having it. I was concerned about Monday when she went back to the babysitter's because I understand that sometimes you just need to give it to them to make them happy. She made it the whole day though!! We've also been putting her to bed at nap time and bed time without her being sound asleep. She has done a remarkable job on both of these things. I'm not trying to count my chickens before they hatch, but she is doing such a great job. We've killed two birds with one stone on these things.

I have a lot of friends/relatives who are pregnant right now. I am so excited for them. I truly believe that there is no greater feeling than being a mama. I love every single minute of it. Keltie is so precious and I am so thankful for her. I'm also very thankful that Kevin is such a great Daddy. You couldn't ask for a better one than he is.

Here's our big girl dreaming about nice weather.

Keltie's First Birthday and First Easter

Unfortunately, I have nothing to post about these two big events in her life. Needless to say, our family was hit with the flu bug. She ended up throwing up starting last Wednesday and is finally starting to feel better today. She is actually at daycare today. We were in the clinic on Monday to make sure she wasn't dehydrated. She just couldn't kick the bug. We had everything organized and ready to go for her party, but she wasn't feeling up to a party. We were unable to celebrate Easter as well since she was still sick and the bug also bit Kevin. Thankfully, this is a birthday and Easter that she won't remember anyway. We'll have a big party once she is fully recovered and she'll never know the difference. I'm sure that it was harder on me anyway.

Here's a picture of her on a happier day. You have to love those eyes.

Look for pictures of when we finally do have her birthday party.

Awful Mama!

I looked at this blog today and was totally disappointed in myself. It's been almost a month since I've posted anything. How horrible is that! It's not like Keltie doesn't do something new everyday. She has come so close to walking, she is using sign language for "more," "please," and "milk." She is no longer drinking from a bottle and we are working on a drinking out of a cup. She has two teeth. She brushes those two teeth each day. She is making the transition from breast milk to whole milk. and so much more. It's unbelievable. She will turn one this Friday and we can't imagine our lives without her. What did we do for entertainment? I promise that I will post Easter and birthday pictures. We were slowed down the last couple of weeks with a cold and double ear infection. She is finally back to herself and we are getting back our lost sleep. Look for more Keltie to come.
