Christmas at Grammy and Boompa's

We went to Grammy and Boompa's house on Saturday to celebrate Christmas. Keltie had a lot of fun. We thought that she wouldn't be too excited about opening presents, but we were wrong. Once she learned how to rip open the paper, she was addicted to it. I guess she probably gets that from her Mama. She was very excited about some of the presents, but she could also tell which presents were just little fillers. She even took one of them and threw it off to the side so that she could open up the next one. She did a great job and didn't lose interest in it. She loved taking them to Grammy and Boompa and having them help open them. I just hope that her enthusiasm continues throughout the many more Christmas gatherings we have to go to.

"I love these new pants." She was so excited about all the clothes that she got.
Bompa helping Keltie. Lots of new songs for the car.
Big girl undies!
"Mama, when will you let me use this bag?" It's a bag for Grammy's house.
Keltie had to make sure that she always helped clean up her mess.
"What's in here Boompa?"
If all else fails, tackle it.
"My very own computer." This is her new favorite toy.
Daddy and Boompa trying to put together her new bike.
"Check me out."

Thanks for a wonderful day! We love you guys so much.

Grammy Day

This morning our babysitter called and was unable to watch Keltie. Thankfully Mom was our back up plan and it worked out for her. We are so lucky that we have people to fall back on. I'm not sure who enjoys it more, Keltie or Grammy. Mom emailed me pictures at work to show how much fun they are having. Don't ask me what they are doing, but it looks like it's more fun than I have at work. Thanks again Grammy.

I think that she's thinking this is what her Mama looks like in the morning!

Not So Jolly Old St. Nicholas

Last year I took Keltie to see Santa and had mixed results from her. This year, I really didn't think that she would want to see Santa. On Sunday there was a little Christmas party at the nursing home where Kevin's grandma is a resident. Of course Santa was going to be there so we thought that we would take Keltie and try it. Not such a good idea. The treats were fine and she had a good time eating them, but then Santa came around the corner.

This was as close as we could get to having her actually sit on his lap. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.

Santa wanted me to sit on his lap with Keltie. After a little coaxing I agreed, although Keltie still didn't get a kick out of it.

Boompa's Cuddle Time

Mom and Dad stopped over the other night and of course had to spend some time with Keltie. Since Dad babysat her last week, she has gotten a little bit more attached to him. She was all snuggled up with him and kept saying "Boompa." Of course he loved every minute of it. She was a complete ham for them showing off the entire time. She truly has quite the personality.

Christmas Card Attempts

We decided that we would take Keltie's picture for our Christmas card. It wasn't exactly what we had pictured, but they still turned out cute. This is only a few of the possibilities. We had to bribe her with fruit snacks to try to get her to smile. Sometimes she's just got that little twinkle in her eye and has a mind of her own. That's what we love about her though. Enjoy!

Sleeping Beauty

Yesterday Keltie decided that she didn't want to take any nap at all. Every once in awhile she does this and it usually makes for a long night. Last night though she was a trooper. Her nightly routine usually consists of looking at books with Mama and then snuggling with Daddy for about 10 minutes before she heads off to bed. She was all snuggled up with Kevin last night looking at her book. She was turning the pages and before we knew it, she was sound asleep holding her books in her hand. So precious.

"Such a good story."
Picture perfect.
She must have been tired because this is how I found her this morning, still sound asleep and resting peacefully.

Abbotsford Christmas Parade

Ever since Kevin and I started dating, we have made it a tradition to go to the Abbotsford Christmas Parade. Last year was super cold so Keltie and I didn't go. This year we figured since it wasn't that cold out, that the entire family could go. Kevin's dad has been a clown in the parade for many years and last year my dad decided to join him in the fun. I'm not sure Keltie will think that's so cool when she gets older. This year she didn't want anything to do with Boompa when he was in his costume. Even though it's the same thing over and over again, it was still a lot of fun. Hopefully next year, Keltie gets more excited about the characters. Check out those socks. "At least I'll stay warm tonight. At least that's what they say."
h Keltie with her cousins Kylie and Ella. I'm not sure that any of them were real excited to be there, but they sure looked cute.
All snuggled up with Daddy. It took Keltie awhile to like the parade, but when she finally did, she didn't like me standing in her way trying to take her picture.
"Elmo, don't get too close to me."

O Christmas Tree

We decided on Saturday that it was time to get our Christmas tree. Last year Kevin and Keltie got the tree and had it put up before I even got home from work. We thought this year that we would make it a family adventure. Thankfully it wasn't too cold as we headed out. It is always an adventure with us. I usually end up looking at the same trees over and over again. Kevin loses patience and he ends up picking out the tree. We bring it home and of course it doesn't fit. It always makes for some wonderful stories though.
This was the first time Keltie was all bundled up in her snowpants. I don't think she was too impressed.
"I can't put my arms down."
"I think this looks like a good one."
"This is huge."
