Books and Sisterly Love

Mom asked me to take a picture of the two girls reading together so that she can hang it up in her room at school. Well, we usually read about 10 books a day at our house so that wasn't too difficult of a task for us. It was more difficult getting the two of them to sit next to each other. Kinsley wanted to grab all the pages, while Keltie pulled the book away from her. I have a feeling that this is only the beginning of the two of them doing this to each other. Here are a few of our attempts.

Follow Up

This is a follow up to last week's post about taking Keltie to Child Development Days. She did a really good job. When we first got there, she cried for a little bit, but as soon as I left the room she was fine. I peeked in at one time and saw her strutting her stuff so I knew that she was feeling confident. The girl that she worked with spoke with me afterward and told me a couple of things that she could do. I already knew that she could do all those things, but it was nice to know that she's right on track. She did tell me that she doesn't ask questions. I kind of gave her a funny look because she should be with me in the morning when I drive to daycare. I think by the time we have driven the 10 miles to Cathy's house, I have heard at least 15 questions come out of her mouth. I'm sure that she was just being shy. She did have a lot of fun and I think she's even more excited to go to school now. This is her standing outside of the school. (Yes, I have already turned into one of those moms and she hasn't even started school yet.)

A Look Into The Furture

Today I am taking Keltie to Child Development Days at the elementary school. We have really been talking a lot about this at our house to get her prepared. I have explained to her that Mama gets to come get her from the babysitter and take her to a special school where she gets to play. At first she wanted me to play along with her, but I explained to her that Mama has to go to a boring meeting. She was so excited this morning. We had to pack her little backpack and get her all dressed up to go.
She's saying, "I'm ready for school."
She is growing up way too fast. Hopefully she will agree to do the things that they want her to do. If not, oh well. She gets to go to McDonalds afterwards so she's equally as excited about that.

Chow Time

Kinsley has been starting to eat more and more solids. She's so funny because she gets so excited about things. She loves to be in her high chair. I guess that's probably because she spens a lot of time in there especially when I'm cooking. She loves to be right in the middle of everything so it's easiest to put her in the high chair so she can watch. Here she is the other day eating graham crackers.

"I love eating."
"This is yummy."

TMI

Last night we went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Kevin was pushing Kinsley in her swing and I was pushing Keltie. As I was pushing her I told her that this summer we have to work on teaching her how to pump. She looked at me in all seriousness and said no. I asked her why not. She tells me with a straight face, "I don't have big boobies. I only have little boobies." Kevin and I just started to laugh as that "pumping" had never even crossed our mind. I guess she's exposed to way too much already.

Snowman Fun

Since last night was so nice out, Kevin took Keltie out to make a snowman. Eventually Kinsley and I joined in on the fun. We played outside for quite awhile and it made all of us wish that this white stuff was gone. We can't wait for summer! This morning when we left the house, Keltie noticed that the scarf and hat had fallen off. So I was in my dress shoes walking outside to put those things back on. The things you do for your children. :)
Keltie helping Daddy put the carrot nose on.
Have to make sure everything is just perfect.
Kinsley is thinking "You think this is fun?"
The finished product.
So proud of their snowman.Even though I didn't help make it, I had to have my picture taken as well.

Sleight Ride Take 2

Last weekend we went on another sleigh ride. This was originally scheduled before our first ride, but due to the ice it had to be cancelled and rescheduled for a different time. Needless to say, this ride was different than the first one. (I think that's actually probably an understatement). We had a lot of fun and once again the girls were very good. Keltie even got more adventurous and ventured up closer to the horses. We were all full of horse hair when we got back, but the memories it created were well worth it.

Mom has been wanting a family picture for a long time. I guess this is as good as it gets.
Of course what's a trip without a blue yummy in hand.
Keltie insisted on being by Grammy the entire time.
All snuggled up with Daddy. The best place to be (if you can't be with Mama that is).

Daddy's Girls

Can you tell these two girls love their daddy and want to be just like him?

Getting Bigger

As the girls are getting older and bigger, we have had to upgrade to different carseats. Keltie was so excited to get her new one. Kevin brought it in the house and was fixing the straps and she had to sit in it. We also had to buckle her up in it to get the true effect. She sat like this for a long time, until she realized that if she wanted something she couldn't get it herself.
I didn't get a picture of Kinsley, but she was equally as excited as Keltie was. She sat in it and imediately started to bounce up and down. She truly is getting such a personality.
