Easter Egg Hunt

We took Keltie to the Easter egg hunt at the Abbotsford nursing home on Saturday with Granny Will. There was 900 eggs hid so each kid got to take 30 of them. It wasn't very difficult for her to get her eggs. You could just walk and pick them up. At first she wasn't too sure about it, but then she started to throw the eggs into her basket.
Starting off nicely putting them in her basket.
Getting a little help from Daddy and Granny.

"I got another one."
"How many more to go?"
If you remember Keltie's picture at Christmas time with Santa, it looked a lot like this one. She would wave to the bunny when he was far away, but didn't want anything to do with him when he got too close. You could feel her hands tightening around ours. Maybe next year! At least we got a picture with Great Grandma Staab.

Princess Keltie

One of Keltie's new favorties is to lay in our bed and read books. She has to carry them in there and then cover up with a blanket. The other morning I was trying to get ready so she was eating her snack in bed, and of course she had to have her milk. She truly was acting like a little princess just waiting for me to finish.
I keep looking at those pictures and asking myself, where did our little girl go? I guess we have to start calling her our little lady.

Rags to Riches

Keltie loves her hat. It took us a long time to get her to that stage, but now she always wants to wear a hat, even when she doesn't need one sometimes. She decided that she wanted to wear Daddy's hat so she could be like him. It looks like she's a little rough around the edges, but I think that's part of what makes her so cute in it.
Putting on her wa-wah boots.
Acting silly for the camera.
Counting, 1, 2, 3 for the camera!

Potty Training 101

So we have been working on potty training (although we haven't really spent a lot of time with it). Keltie has gone a couple of times in the past so we've been trying to get her used to the chair again and have been putting her on it more frequently. Last night she was looking at a magazine and didn't want to go sit. I told her that she could bring it along with her. Well, that was a mistake. Usually she'll only sit for a minute or two and say she's done. With the magazine in her hand, the potty chair is much more exciting. I kept asking her if she was done and she kept shaking her head. After awhile I went into the living room and just let her sit there. Of course though, then she would find an exciting page in the magazine and I would hear, "Mama, Mama, uppy." I'd go and look and she would be pointing to a puppy. Oh the joys of parenthood!

"What's up guys?"

Sunday Fun and Cheap Entertainment

We got home yesterday and had some unpacking to do. After that was all finished we had Rubbermaid containers sitting in the living room. Keltie decided that she wanted to sit in one. Then she wanted to look at my magazine that I had gotten in the mail. She's almost getting too long to sit in them, but she had a good time.

Hotel Fun

On Saturday we went to Wausau for some shopping and to spend a night in a hotel in honor of our birthdays. Mom and Dad had been there the night before so we met them for lunch and for some swimming fun. Keltie was such a trooper. I really have decided that she is the best little girl we could ever ask for. She loved going in the water. The swimming pool was a little on the cool side but she loved the whirlpool and the bubbles. We went for awhile and then went back to the room. Our swimsuits were sitting by the shower and she kept pointing to them and saying "Bubble" and then would walk to the door. We went again yesterday morning and she loved it just as much. Hopefully she continues to love water, unlike her Mama.

We didn't know how she would react to sleeping in the room because we were right there and the tv was turned on. When it was nap time, she walked right over to her pack and play and Grammy laid her down. She fell right asleep and never made a sound until we woke her up later. She did the same thing that night. Again, another reason why we know we are truly blessed. It was great to get away and have some quality family time.
"Splish, splash, I was taking a bath."
"One, two, three."
"Say cheese."
Enjoying our family time. Of course I couldn't go in the whirlpool so I had to sit and watch. Check out that belly. Yeah, I had some swimsuit issues. :)
What's more fun than sitting in bed watching tv and eating Doritos?

Basement Update

I haven't updated the progress of drywalling our basement in a long time so I figured I better do that. Kevin and Dad have finished hanging the majority of the drywall throughout the basement. Now the fun part of mudding, sanding and painting begins. Kevin started taping Keltie's new bedroom off and has the first coat of mud on her closet. This is such a long and tedious project and one that I'm not very good at so I don't get to help with it. It's exciting that we are getting closer to finishing Keltie's new room. She loves to go down in the basement and check things out. Really, I think she likes it down there because she can get dirty. When we tell her to come to her new bedroom she will go to it. She used to point to the other bedroom and say "Mine", but I think she's finally understanding. These are some pictures of her "helping" Daddy.

"Smile for the camera."
Daddy told her that she could stand on the ladder with help from him.
"Look Mama, no hands."
This is Keltie's attempt at a picture taking again. Of course she had to zoom in on the beer cans that are in the basement. Always have to have a few of them when working.
Kevin told her that she could help mud the closet so here they are practicing.

Day with Grammy

Yesterday Grammy got the pleasure of babysitting Keltie. We have been very fortunate this year that Keltie hasn't gotten sick (knock on wood) and that it's just our babysitter needing a day off here and there. I don't think anyone has complained about having to take a day off to spend time with Keltie. Before I even left for work Keltie was asking for cookies. Who knows how much sweet stuff she actually got from Grammy. I am thankful though for her help. Thanks for even cleaning out Keltie's closet. I know it was a mess and I haven't been motivated to tackle it. Here are a few pictures from their day together.

Mom sent this picture to me and made a comment about how she's starting to look more like me. I don't know if it's the silly grin or what, but I can see it in this picture as well. I guess that's either a good thing of kind of scary. :)
Check out those wheels! I can't wait until it's nice outside so this can go out there.

Getting ready for summer. Notice the Cookie Monster tattoo on her arm. Keltie has gotten her first ink. She is pretty proud of it.
"Life is so easy sometimes." Look at those chunky thighs.
Thank you again Grammy. If anyone ever wants to volunteer they can have the opportunity to do so, just let us know. :) Keltie is only one month away from being 2. It's so hard to believe how fast that time has gone. She is talking and doing so much more everyday. She is truly developing her own personality and you can't help, but laugh at her sometimes. The other day I was changing clothes and she looked at my belly and said, "Hi, Baby, Hi Baby!" in her excited little voice.

I have been feeling good. I am starting to show more and more, although I haven't gotten into the maternity pants yet. It's funny how just last week it seemed like I popped a little bit more. Everyone told me that it was about time it happened!
