Christmas #1

Over the weekend we had our first of many Christmas celebrations. We had Grammy and Boompa come down to our house so that we could celebrate together. We had such a nice time. We were thankful that they agreed to come to our house so it would make it easier for the girls to take their naps. We were able to sit down in the basement next to the warm pellet stove and enjoy each other's company and of course the presents. Keltie is so much fun to watch because she is so appreciative of every gift she gets (even clothes). She wanted to stop and play with each of them when she opened one up. We had to keep reminding her to continue opening or it would be next Christmas before she finished. Kinsley was more interested in eating the wrapping paper than anything else.
Keltie will be Daddy's camping buddy this summer with this amazing six pack holder. It's almost like a fanny pack, but much more manly since it hold beer.
Last year Keltie went to Boompa to read the tags and help her open up her presents. It was the same thing again this year.

My attempt at trying to get Kinsley's picture. Would be much more cute if I wasn't in it.
Playing catch with Daddy (you just can't see him).
Opening up the wagon for both the girls. Thanks Boompa for putting it together, even if Kevin finished putting her bike together before you finished.
"What can this be?" Notice the wheels in back as Boompa puts together the wagon.
A big girl bike. Kevin has spent time with Keltie practicing pedaling in the basement. So far, no such luck. She just doesn't quite get it. I laughed at the two of them because Kevin was getting so frustrated with it. Well, I tried then, and I completely understand why he was getting frustrated.
"Hang on Boompa." We took the sled outside the next day and Keltie had so much fun in it. I think when you are 2 1/2 you have to yell to let everyone know how much fun you are having.
Thanks Boompa and Grammy for a great day. We love you!

Christmas Pictures

Christmas cards were sent in the mail yesterday so I can now put up pictures of the girls. Hope you enjoy! I think that their expressions are captions enough so I'm not going to add anything to them.

Sneak Peek

Last night Auntie Carol came to our house to take pictures of the girls for our Christmas card. They did such an awesome job. I was amazed at how well both of them cooperated. It took a little bit of bribery for Keltie (in the form of 2 sips of Pepsi), but Kinsley wasn't afraid at all; there was no stranger danger for her. Anyway, Kevin told me that I couldn't put up pictures until we had sent out our Christmas card. We don't want to ruin the cuteness for everyone. I couldn't resist putting up one picture of each of the girls. I made the card today, but it was difficult to narrow it down. Until you get your card in the mail, this will have to do. Thank you Carol, you did such a good job again.
Keltie sitting in the sleigh. We had her saying all kinds of different things to get her to smile. The best was "Immaculate Conception." (Yes, you can tell I teach at a Catholic school).
What a sweetie!

It's Beginning to Look A lot Like Christmas

It's taken me awhile, but I'm finally starting to be in the Christmas spirit. Keltie has been excited about it for a few weeks, but I just couldn't get myself into it. It does melt my heart every morning though when we drive to daycare and she says "I listen to Kissmiss music." Needless to say, I'm getting sick of the same songs though.

Anyway, we went Saturday to get our Christmas tree. This is always an adventure because we can't ever agree on the "perfect" tree. Without even realizing it, I look at the same tree over and over again. We got to the tree place and Kinsley was sleeping so we decided to leave her in the truck. Well, we set a new world record this year. We were out of the truck, had our tree cut down, loaded and ready to go in 14 minutes. Wow, it's because Kevin and I actually agreed on it. Keltie tried to pick out some for us, but they weren't quite right. She had fun shaking the snow off the trees though.
Kevin was very patient cutting it down, but he said that he would have had better luck with a butter knife.
Keltie all bundled up enjoying the snow. She didn't want her picture taken with the tree or Daddy.

It's always been our tradition to go the Abbotsford Christmas Parade after we have gotten our tree. Kevin's parents always have everyone over for supper and then we go together. Once again, Boompa and Papa decided to be clowns.
Kinsley decided that she would go by the clowns. It's funny because this was one of the only times that she wasn't crying when someone new was holding her. (Boompa, Kinsley, Papa and cousin Addison).
Autumn decided that she would be in the picture as well, but the 2 year olds wanted nothing to do with these crazy guys.
Here's Keltie all bundled up in the truck and ready to go.
Ella, Keltie and Kylie waiting for the fun to begin. They couldn't really move, but had a great seat for the fun. (Notice the beer can in Keltie's hand).
Waiting for Cinderella to come over to them. It was so fun to watch the three of them because they were so excited. They would wave and yell to the people. We kept telling them that next year they will have to make room in their wagon for Kinsley. (She stayed at home in the warmth with Grammy. Thanks again Grammy).
Sunday, Keltie and I decided to decorate the tree. I thought that she would really get into it, but she had more fun unpacking the boxes going "Here's another one Mama, and another one." She handed them to me faster than I could put them on. We decided to put our tree in the basement this year. We got a pellet stove last week and we spend a lot more time down there now since it's warmer.
Here's the finished product.Keltie watching TV downstairs.
Here's the new pellet stove. Kevin did all the tile and laid the carpet. He also put the trim around everything. It's amazing how far our house has come in the last year. (Again, notice the beer cans. I think it's a reoccuring theme at our house!)

Purplelicious

I don't usually try to dress the girls in the same clothes, but yesterday they were both in purple so I had to get their pictures.
"Hi Mama."
Can you tell Keltie is trying to watch tv at the same time?
Our two little blessings.

Growing up too Fast

Where does time go? Kinsley will be 5 months old next week. It's amazing how much she changes each day. She just went to the doctor last week. She is now 16 pounds 2 ounces and 25.75 inches long. (She is 8 ounces heavier and 1/4 inch shorter than Keltie at this age.) She is our little chunk. Everyone refers to her as "compact" because she's got that stocky build. She hasn't rolled over yet, but is very close to sitting on her own. She has started on cereal again and can't get enough of it. She admires Keltie so much. When Keltie talks to her, she will stop what she is doing and just look at her. She loves to "talk." When I get Keltie up in the morning you can hear Kinsley upstairs just talking away waiting for Keltie to come to her. Here's some updated pictures of her.
"Mama, please no more kisses."
Check out that face. Who can resist that?
Future sumo wrestler in training.
"Yeah, I know I'm cute."
Don't you want to pinch those cheeks?
"I love you."
"Another picture."
"I am saying cheese."

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we headed to Mom and Dad's. It was a great day. Of course everyone loved playing with the girls. Kinsley had been to the doctor the day before and had gotten shots so she wasn't really into having every one hold her. We tried for some pictures and these were the results.
Great Grandma, Mama, Kinsley, Grammy and Keltie (Please ignore my face in this one.)
The proud Grammy and Boompa. (See what I mean about Kinsley.)
If you can't get a nice picture, try using the nuk.
If the nuk fails, hand her off to Grammy.
Grammy made Keltie a tent in their bedroom for her nap. She was very excited to sleep there.
Sewing with her second cousin Trent.

Hair cut #2

Keltie's hair has really been growing. It was taking me a long time in the morning to get it combed through and it usually ended up with her in tears. We decided it was time for another hair cut. I was a little apprehsive about this because she had such a difficult time with it last time. As we watched her constantly brush it out of her eyes, I knew it needed to be done. Kevin and I spent a lot of time talking to her about it before we went. She also decided that she wanted both of us to go with. She was excited about it, but I still didn't know what to expect. Well, she was awesome. She never even flinched. She sat on Daddy's lap and watched herself in the mirror. The lady even remarked at how well she did. We were so proud of her. She didn't get that much cut off, but it looks much better since it is more evened out. It still takes awhile for it to get combed in the morning, but it is much less snarly. (The funny thing is, she didn't get her bangs cut at all because they still haven't really grown in. Kinsley on the other hand, will have to get her bangs cut before she's a year old!)

Looking in the mirror to see what is happening.
She was very excited about being able to wear the fish cape. (Look at that proud Daddy.)
Little apprehensive, but that's because someone else is trying to take her picture as well.
