Mother's Day

Yes, we are still around. I know that it has been FOREVER since I have posted anything and I can't even make excuses why. It's just been a long time.

Yesterday since it was Mother's Day there was a lot of secrets and whispering going around our house as to what we should do. Well, we should know that you don't tell a 2 year old a secret because Mama is going to find out what is planned for the day. Originally, we were going to go camping, but decided to stay home and get things done. We did go to Marshfield and went to Culver's. We ate our ice cream in the van and then headed to the zoo. This has gotten to be a yearly tradition for us and it's so much fun to see how excited the girls get about seeing the animals. This year there was a little newborn fawn which was extremly cute to watch. Kinsley really got a kick out of it. It was a great day with my 3 favorite people. I love my family so, so, so much. Thanks for a great day.

Entering the zoo. So Kinsley got new sunglasses and was super excited to wear them. She also had to have her Elmer Fudd hat on because while she was eating breakfast at home she saw a rabbit. We always tease her when she wears this hat that she's hunting rabbits so she had to have it on.

Old McDonald

On Friday, we headed to Keltie's school for her spring concert. Her class sang "Old McDonald." She was so excited because she got to be a cow. The tallest kids were the cows! She did a great job. It's so funny to watch her because she does exactly what her teacher tells her to do. Her hands were on her hips until it was time to sing. Then she was pretty serious as well, but she did it. Her confidence has really grown this year in school and I'm so proud of everything that she has done. Thank you to everyone who came and watched her as well.

I couldn't get to school right away, so I sent the camera with Kevin to take pictures of her with some of her friends. I'm not sure that these two are even her classmates, by the look on her face. :)

Camping Season

A few weekends ago we got our camper out of storage. We have been working very hard on getting it ready. Of course when we brought it home the girls wanted to sleep in it right away. They didn't quite understand that it needed a good cleaning before that could be done. Well, we finally got it ready and we all spent the night in it. We could only spend one night since Kinsley was awake at 6:15 the next morning! They had a blast though and we can't wait to actually take it somewhere.

Oomy Goggles

For Keltie's birthday party she got a pair of swimming goggles. Kinsley was very excited about this as well and kept calling them "oomy goggles." So one night when they were int he bathtub together, Keltie decided to try them out.

Nap Time

So nap time at our house is probably one of my favorite times at my house. Of course that's only on the weekends when I can actually take a nap along with the girls. Keltie is getting in that stage where she doesn't really want to take naps, but doesn't want to admit to the fact that she needs them. We keep telling her that next year she won't have to. Kinsley is usually very good at taking naps as well. Sometimes, it is a little difficult to wake them up. This is one of those days.

 

No matter how hard we tried, we just couldn't get them to open up their eyes. Don't we all have days like this?

Where Does Time Go?

This weekend we had Keltie's 5th birthday party. Yes, I said 5th. Where did time go? How did she get so grown up? It just amazes me everyday. She is truly turning into such a responsible and mature girl. She had a great time at her party and was thankful for all those who could make it. Here was her day.

Easter Day

So the day before Easter we kept telling the girls that the Easter Bunny would be coming soon. As soon as we said this, Kinsley would get a scared look on her face. When we went to put them to bed that night she was in tears saying that she didn't want the Easter Bunny to come in to her room. What should we do? I knew that we had to do something because otherwise she would be worried all night or I would end up sleeping in front of her door. Here's what we did.



 

It's kind of hard to read, but we put it right in front of her bedroom. She slept sound and didn't say make a peep. When she got up on Easter morning, we asked her if she had heard anything and she was so excited because the bunny didn't come in to her room. She's too funny. I didn't get any pictures from our Easter egg basket hunt at our house because I was recording it. Both the girls were super excited to get new sunglasses and toothbrushes. It truly is the small things in life. We headed to Granny and Papa's house for more Easter fun.

 

After church, Kinsley was hungry so she had to have a bowl of cereal. Everyone had to wait patiently until she was finished. I think that she knew this because she took her sweet time.

She then said, "That's not fair that I know where mine is. Now it's not going to be fun to find it." Thankfully Joann was home so with a quick phone call, it was placed in a different spot.
