Digging and Planting

Sunday, we were outside once again. We had a couple of pine trees that we no longer living so Keltie decided  that she wanted to dig them up. She worked really hard, but in the end Daddy had to help out as well. We found two new trees and she helped to plan them. Meanwhile, Kinsley stepped too close to the edge of one of the holes and sunk into the mud. Needless to say, this did not make for a happy little girl.

Enjoying a little snack and watching Daddy on the four wheeler.
"This is tough work."
She was not happy that I wanted her picture while she was digging.
Just watching to see what Kel-Kel is doing.
Getting a little help.
Working together.
Taking the new tree to its new home.

Beautiful Weekend

Wow! That's all that I can say about this past weekend. The weather was amazing. We were outside almost the entire weekend. Friday night the girls spent the night with Grammy and Boompa so that Kevin and I could get up early on Saturday and go camper shopping. Well, let's just say we have a lot of decisions make with that. The girls had an awesome time with Grammy and Boompa. Saturday night we headed out to the woods for a cookout with the cousins. I don't think it's very often in March that you can cookout in March, especially just in hooded sweatshirts.

Kinsley was so excited to "shit" in her chair. (That's how she says sit)
Don't ask me what she is doing.
Keltie and the cousins.
Fun times.
They had to have their picture taken one more time. I love Kylie's pose.

Little Lady

On Friday, I took off of school early so that I could take Keltie to Child Development Days. I had absolutely no concerns, but thought that it would be a great way for her to get to see her school again before she actually goes. She was awesome. At first, she didn't want to do anything and didn't want to leave my side. Eventually the lady got her coloring. When she colors, she doesn't want to leave. I walked away and she colored for quite awhile. When they were finished the lady brought her over and told me that she is doing great. She said that she could zip through her colors, shapes and numbers. (Not surprising to me at all, she has been doing this forever.) She said that she has great fine motor skills, thus all the coloring that she does. When we left, Keltie looked at me and said, "Mama, I knew everything that she asked me." Too cute!

One quick picutre before we left. The wind was blowing her hair and she didn't like it.

Sap Collecting Part Two

This is the second week that Kevin is laid off so he has been loving his time with the girls. Boompa is also off since it's too wet for him to work in the woods. Yesterday they all headed out to the woods to help Papa collect sap again. The girls had a blast helping and were out in the woods for a long time.

Just waiting to get started.
"Come on let's go."
Boompa's buddy.
I think you are supposed to be working and not relaxing.
Kevin said that Kinsley had so much fun and was a big helper.
Break time.
Lunch break.
Beautiful day.
"All this work makes me thirsty."
Playing in the sap. (Or fishing according to the girls.)

Water Fun

Last night we headed outside after supper to enjoy the weather. We went to put water boots on the girls and we didn't have any that fit Keltie, so of course this led to tears. (Don't worry, a phone call later and it was put on the birthday wish list). Anyway, she put on her regular boots and we told her that her feet were probably going to get wet and when they did, she would have to tell us when she wanted to go in. The project was breaking up the ice in our yard and trying to get it to flow. The girls had a blast helping Daddy with their shovels and following him around. After about an hour, Keltie said that she wanted to go in. She was very calm about it so we didn't think anything of it. I took her in the garage and took off her boots. They were SOAKING wet. By soaking wet, I mean I dumped out water and I could squeeze the water out of her socks. She was a trooper about it, but we felt awful.

Walking in the backyard. See how deep she is?
Watching the water run down the hill.
Getting in deeper and deeper.
When she sees the camera, she's got to say "Cheese."
"Teamwork, gets the job done faster." (Yes, they are in the pajamas.)
"Is this how you do it Daddy?"
Have to have a little taste of it. Yuck!
This is what is left of the fort. (I don't know what that face is all about.)
The joy of living in the country on a road that isn't well traveled. Kinsley is waving to the car that went by.
It was such a beautiful weekend, that we all had spring fever in our house. Saturday we headed to Wausau to go the camper show and look for new campers. Of course we found one that we liked, but of course we weren't real thrilled with the price tag on it. We left there with Keltie saying "We aren't leaving with a camper. I thought we were going to get a new camper."

Sunday, we called up Papa to see if he was going to the woods to check his tapped trees. He said that he was headed out there so we went as well. Keltie had a great time following Granny and Papa around. Kinsley needs to get a little bit older before she truly enjoys it. She stayed pretty close to Daddy's side.

Keltie getting her first taste from the tree. She had to do this numerous times.
Getting ready to be put to work.
Keltie and Granny going to work.
"Really, you think this is fun?"
Dumping another bucket.
Daddy and Kinsley relaxing. This is pretty much what they did the entire time.
Daddy's little helper.
Sitting pretty.
Keltie waiting for Granny to come and find her.

Mommy and Girl Day

Wednesday was a snow day for us (big surprise there), but I also had Thursday off since we didn't have a babysitter for the day. Needless to say, two days at home with the girls was exactly what I needed. We had so much fun together.

Making muffins together. Keltie was so excited because there weren't any eggs in the mix so they could eat the batter. Kinsley was just excited because Keltie was excited.
When Daddy got home from work, we made a snowman together. Roxie and Tim had given the girls the parts to decorate the snowman for Christmas so we finally got to use them. Since it was so nice out, they kept falling out. Kinsley kept saying "Broke."
Daddy also dug a tunnel. Keltie got a little ways in, but was a little too afraid to go in. (I can't blame her.)
Kinsley just chilling with Mama.
Peeking through the tunnel.
Then Daddy worked on a fort for the girls. The camera battery died so you'll have to keep scrolling to see them inside.
Shaving cream and fingerpaint. Oh what fun!
What fun and what a mess!
The aftermath.
As I'm cleaning up, Keltie is ready to go to the next thing.
Water fun!
Keltie had to take a drink, since Kinsley was drinking the water as well.
Back in the fort. Keltie loved it, but she wondered where the toys were.
Peek!
Kinsley wasn't sure what to think of it, but she tried it out.
Keltie decided she wanted to get the mail by herself. She stopped to look before she crossed (and then again when she was in the middle of the road.)
She's growing up way too fast.
"Nothing for me."
We went for a walk to the neighbor's house and Kinsley fell. She was a trooper about it though. She kept telling us "I fall. I fall."
